How to tailor your resume for a Marketing Manager role

A screener on a Marketing Manager posting has read managed integrated campaigns across channels all morning, so it earns nothing on its own. Tailoring means moving your budget figure and its return above channel-list bullets. That match, more than any other line on the page, decides whether this resume gets a second look.

Four moves for this posting
  1. State the budget you owned and what it returned in the opening bullet, matching any budget language the posting includes; budget is scope, and return is the actual skill being screened.
  2. Name channels with their individual results, matching the exact channels the posting lists, and reorder them to match; multichannel without numbers per channel reads as a shrug.
  3. State team scope, headcount, agencies, freelancers, matching any team language in the posting; manager of campaigns and manager of people are different jobs sharing one title.
  4. Move a pipeline or revenue-attribution bullet above brand-awareness language when the posting mentions demand generation; revenue language is what a demand-focused reader is actually scanning for.
The fact behind this

Most ATS software ranks and filters resumes for humans to read. It does not silently reject them. (how applicant tracking systems actually work)
