You do not need a special template, and paying for one buys you nothing a plain document does not already do. What parsers want is boring: selectable text, a single column, standard section headings. Any clean document editor produces that for free.
Templates sold as ATS-proof mostly repackage the same three properties, text that can be selected, one column, headings a parser recognizes. Some of the fancier paid templates actually parse worse, because designers add tables and text boxes that scramble field extraction.
Spend the money on nothing and the time on content. The recruiter searching the ATS finds you by keywords from the posting, and the recruiter reading you gives the page about 7 seconds first. Plain layout, posting vocabulary, one concrete result per role beats any template.
