Resume Roast for Cloud Architects

Cloud Architect resumes arrive buried in certification acronyms, and recruiters have learned the certs mean less than the migrations. The scan hunts for what you actually designed: workloads moved, systems that stayed up, budgets that shrank. An architect who cannot point to a system running in production designed a diagram. Lead with the biggest thing you built and the bill you cut, then list the certs.

What Gabe checks first on a Cloud Architect resume
  • Describe your largest migration or greenfield build with numbers: workloads moved, downtime taken, timeline hit. Architected cloud solutions could mean a whiteboard sketch.
  • Attach dollars where you can. Cut infrastructure spend 25 percent through rightsizing and reserved instances is the sentence a CTO reads twice.
  • Certifications go after the evidence, not before it. A cert list up top with thin projects below reads like a student, whatever your title was.
